Every autumn we can’t wait to get some information about what will happen at Piran Days of Architecture. Piran? Yes, also we didn’t know for many years that the “Piran Days of Architecture” is one of the oldest architecture conference in the world and we were quite surprised when attending for the first time a couple of years ago! In all the years the event has grown steadily and offers many collateral events in Piran and Portorož today. Here’s more about the event and what Maja Ivanic and her fabulous team have planned around it this year:
This years conference marks an important milestone:
35 years of PDA!
Time in Architecture: 35 years of PDA
For the 35 years Piran architectural meetings oppose time. Somehow, time was built into the theme of each conference. Time of reflection includes also a question about the time in architecture. Time with no phisical body is, same as light, one of essential elements of architecture: architecture always happens with the time. Usually one that intensively tries to catch it misses it fastest. However, is time still the meseure of architecture? Does time decide what is the real Architecture? Is the mission of architecture in its quick reaction to time? What is it that determines architectural time? Jurij Kobe
