Once a year the world’s architects and designers flock to Milan for the Milan Design Week! This years edition is the 55th and features many interesting (and hidden) places to visit. Our perfect stay in Milan starts with an evening tour in the Brera Design District where many pop-up stores, exhibitions and bars are located and open till late. Convivium in Via Ponte Vetero 21 is a great place for dinner.
On the second day a visit at the Salone del Mobile in Rho (let’s call it the official part of our stay) is definitely worth a visit to get a more detailed view of new products, trends and materials. Crassevig, Billiani and Potocco are always among our favorite stands to visit…and there are so many more to explore!
On our way back to downtown Milan a stop at the Valcucine store at Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi, 99 is a must as well as at the B&B Italia store located in Via Durini, 14 – great presentations and good parties guaranteed!
If you have another day in Milan the (maybe) lesser known Ventura/Lambrate area is the area to go if you are interested in finding young new designers and their proposals.
One of the best websites to organize your stay is FUORISALONE.IT – Maps, itineraries and events can be found here in Italian and English.
