Cool bikes are always worth a look or a try whether at the beach, in the mountains or in the city. There are so many different solutions nowadays for people with totally different needs and demands. But what about a non usual bulk bike?
When it comes to custom made bikes you’re often ending up in custom made chopper bikes, extreme bikes or simply beautiful ones not suitable for everyday’s use.
One of the view guys, if not the only one around, is Stefano from Pordenone, PN in Northern Italy. He started to work on a totally different kind of bikes. When he was off for appointments during his working days he found many abandoned or thrown away bikes and bicycle frames so he started to collect them and on his weekends he tried to figure out what he could do with all that frames. So far so good you’ll say, until here everyone’s able to collect bike trash everywhere but look what hits the road when Stefano lends a hand.
The result are custom made bikes made of existing classic frames, sandblasted and built up as innovative unique pieces. All that since 2010 when he started with his first bike, a classic Italian racer.
But during the last six years his second career made a grand leap forward because Stefano was invited to show his bikes in various fashion stores, at bike presentations or fairs. This is where we met this very likable young man. Having seen one of his bike in a surfshop (Nonsolovela, Grado) in Italy we were wondering if we should buy it because we loved the way it was made, the color and the whole piece appeared to be really made with love, something unusual when thinking of normal bikes.
Even if Stefano, after we met, wasn’t still convinced if he should customize our bikes but at the end he agreed to do a totally different kind of work for us. Till now he did what he wanted and designed the bikes according to his taste and mood – but what about pimping a bike according to the ideas of an architect and an interior designer? Sounds strange but we were not quite sure if he would meet our expectations because he was never commissioned so far.
Please let me say that he didn’t meet our expectation! Infact he exceeded them by far! As we were very easy clients we knew exactly what we wanted and Stefano was really able to create two outstanding bikes, a mediterranean bike and a beach cruiser. As we were able to work with Stefano we had a total cost control by choosing various products and implementation details together. What came out were custom made bikes that are able to compete with standard bikes in price!
So if you would like to have something really personal for your daily life and if you are tired of your existing bike don’t hesitate to contact OTTOCICLI and talk about your project today!
